<lj:music>Heroin - The Velvet Underground</lj:music>

Joey's keeping of a livejournal spurred me to revive mine. It's really interesting seeing him write, since I've heard him speak in powers of ten more than I've heard him write. Still, I can tell that it is him writing.

I saw American Beauty the other night. I was surprised that this movie wasn't just some pretentious film (a wierd prejudice, because I've never seen a pretentious film that I didn't end up liking), but it ended up being a declaration of the once solace I can hold on to no matter what form my believes currently take, what sort of life I am living, or what sort of mood I am in. "American Beauty," indeed. I still become frustrated with myself, though, because it is with movies like that, that encourage you to act in the world around you, to immerse yourself in your own life, that are all too easy to become fixated on, that distract us from the very task which it sets us out to do. It's a risk no matter what media is involved, whether it be film, music, or text. Take Neitzsche or Christianity, for example.

I'm looking for an apartment in York, PA. I think I might have some prospective roomates, good friends of Hannah and good people in general. I'm looking forward to that prospect, of cheap living with good friends (I desperately need some of those). Also, I'm looking forward to escaping this oppressive community. What oppresses me? The opinions of the members. I must constantly be on guard that I do not overstep my bounds, which, surprisingly, is difficult to do.

<lj:music>...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Source Tags & Codes</lj:music>

I went upon top of a mountain last night. It was fantastic, but the wind began to blow dirt in my eyes, which was wierd, because there isn't a lot of dirt (or terrain in general) on top of a mountain. Anyways, that cut my stargazing short.

I wasn't wearing a costume, but Frank called out my non-costume as a Scott Pilgrim costume, which pleased me immensely. I then switched back and forth between a Scott Pilgrim personality and Capt. "Mooch" McGee, a British army officer from the turn of the 20th century. Then Kaki's driving gave me nausea, but I recovered.

An essay that is two days late? I don't care. I haven't even started yet.

I am at West Georgia.

I'm quite satisfied with my room setup, as my roomate and I have done an excellent job putting all of our crap into this really small area.

Also, in an ironic (and predictable) twist of fate, Joey and I are best friends. Having spent my life since 5th grade in close contact with him, I am now going to be living with him for the next year. It's actualy not that bad, because we're more able to coordinate than other random pairs. Which in part is responsible for our room.

Fellow academites cover a suprising range on the likablility spectrum. There are a few who are barely tolerable, and a few who are excellent people to be around and know.

Mallory is here, too. She's having trouble adjusting to dorm life, I think, and is very stressed and sans-sleep. I'm hoping that I can help her. Feeling for her so has the odd side effect of me wanting her to be happy.

I love you, Mallory.

I participated in the adolescent tradition of wisdom teeth removal yesterday.

Fortunately, they gave me an anti-nausea shot, which put me back to sleep (1st time was anesthesia) and wiped my memory of the entire experience.

The shot did not, however, prevent the frequent bleeding and soreness I have.

Consequentially, I am becoming desensitized to the taste of blood. I still don't understand vampirists, though.

Mallory also came over today, bearing a thermos of soup. I devoured the soup, and we napped together. The sleep was uncomfortable, though, because I keep my room cold and we wouldn't risk getting caught under the covers. Definitely a good time, though, if for the soup if not being able to sleep next to Mallory.

I love Mallory Yves Scott. I really can't think of anyone more dear to me than her. Over the past I have been convinced that she is the most beautiful and wonderful person I have ever ever ever seen, heard, or been told about. No one cares more for me than she does, and there's no one I care more for. I had never known what that feels like until I met her.

It's been difficult, though. Over the past ten months, I have learned that I love Mallory, and I have had to learn how to love her. That was probably one of the most difficult things I have ever done, but definitely the most rewarding. There's nothing like loving and being loved by you, Mallory. I'm glad you've helped me to stick it out to this point. I can't wait to see how much further we'll go.

Mallory, thank you for everything. I owe you more than I can give.

I love you.

I love you.

I kind of forgot about the other few in which I neglected my livejournal. I don't think much happened those weeks, anyways. This week has been by far one of the more interesting ones of the summer.
